This is a soft news article, written by another team member and myself.
The Hours After is an exhibition part of Singapore Art Week 2021 in Gillman Barracks. The exhibition opened from 6pm to 11.59pm, consisting of eight main artists whose nights ponder through their art.
OVERVIEW
My role doing this industry project in my team of 4 was the writer for the soft news story. While we did everything as a team, each of us took charge of one part of the project and I did the soft news about the idea of the exhibition.
While the night is meant to be dark and mellow, it could also be the time of life for various living things and even humans. Nightlife is fascinating in the dark and this exhibition spoke about exactly what could happen in the hours after.
As the writer, I did a lot of research on the artists and especially about the ideas of the night -- like how the film was inspired by a Japanese anime called 'Spirited Away'. At that point in time I had never seen the actual movie, but of course, to make sure that my article was unique and genuinely well done, I had to. And it was honestly one of the best movies I had ever seen.
I think from the first impression of the exhibition, I was already super intrigued by the elements that were being showcased, but after I had learned more from the inspiration, I really see how the artist brought his idea to life.
