Republic Polytechnic has an annual event, which is one of the biggest local music festivals in Singapore, "IGNITE! Music festival". For this year (2022), it was one of the fiRadiate909 was invited to go onto Mediacorp Indiego (a new radio station) to help promote the music festival and all the artists that would be performing on each day. I created a script for the event and also picked out the music which we wanted to include. My partner and I then recorded it, which took about 3-5 hours as we needed to make certain changes. Compared to other talksets, I'd say that I had multiple roles which trying to squeeze a 1 month structure/timeline into a 2 week period. Our set was played on air for 3 days, prior to the music festival.
REFLECTION
Overall, this has to be one of my favorite experiences. Not only was I given the opportunity to go on air but I also learned so much more about the local music industry. I felt that this was definitely one of our more informal talk sets as the energy and delivery were so extremely important as the content we were delivering. It was actually more exciting than stressful to be the producer, host, music producer, and social media manager for this project, to actually be in complete control of everything I produced.
